Short Bio

Gregg Akkerman is a retired university professor with a Doctorate Degree in the Humanities from the University of Northern Colorado. Also a successful self-employed musician and author, Gregg is a current member of both the Parks and Recreation Committee and Civic Engagement Committee for the City of Palm Desert. In addition, he was deeply involved in the grass-roots movement to move the city to 5 voting districts. Gregg lives in Palm Desert with his wife (a public-school teacher) and various rescue dogs.
